Job summary

The EH&S Manager (Detroit Thermal Systems) provides technical environmental safety and health support to production and corporate personnel. Develops corporate environmental safety and health programs and coordinates training programs.

The EH&S Manager acts as the primary advisor for all levels of the organization, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, updating safety metrics, and leading training initiatives across the plant and corporate teams.

Qualifications

• Six years’ experience performing in a Safety Engineer / Manager role in a related assembly environment.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Experience and a solid understanding of federal, state and local safety regulations and industry standards, including ANSI B 11.19, RIA 15.06, OSHA 1910, OSHA 1910.147, NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.132, NEC Article 110.16.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at an advance level.
• Possess a strong work ethic with integrity and maturity to gain confidence of senior leaders.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with staff in operations, engineering, HR, and other functions to provide technical EH&S support and direction to corporate and production personnel.
• Develops annual EH&S goals and updates monthly metrics.
• Develops and delivers curriculum for New Hire Orientation and other EH&S training.
• Directs the development of written environmental, safety and health programs and policies.
• Participates in product/process reviews, including hazard analyses and operator training.
• Supports engineering to implement controls to minimize hazards.
• Assists in selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.
• Maintains corporate EH&S library and promotes awareness through memoranda and newsletters.
