Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks EEG Technologists at multiple levels to support pediatric and adult patients in a busy neurology setting. Roles span entry through senior levels, performing diagnostic EEG procedures, mentoring junior techs, and contributing to EMU and long-term monitoring programs.

You will work under EEG Coordinator guidance, adhere to safety protocols, maintain certifications, and participate in ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree, or active student in a CAAHEP-accredited EEG program
• Board eligible for EEG Registry (ABRET) within 2 years of employment
• BLS certification required within 2 weeks of hire and must be maintained

Responsibilities

• Performs core EEG diagnostic procedures for pediatric and adult patient populations
• Observes and assists with advanced procedures to develop foundational clinical skills
• Actively participates in training to build competency and knowledge
• Develops skill level to enhance quality and safety of patient care
• Performs advanced diagnostic testing, including complex EEG monitoring
• Provides mentorship and clinical guidance to junior techs
• Ensures adherence to safety and procedural protocols at a high level of autonomy
