Job summary

SpaceX in Bastrop, TX seeks an EDM Programmer (Starlink) to support high‑scale production. The role focuses on sinker EDM programming, setup, and electrode design to manufacture Starlink components with tight tolerances.

You will work with engineers, optimize machining parameters, and create fixtures while performing maintenance on EDM machines. Familiarity with GD&T, electrode design, and GF+ wire machines is preferred. This is a full‑time on‑site position with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• 5+ years sinker EDM programming experience required.
• 5+ years CNC EDM set-up, operating, and basic programming experience preferred.
• 1+ year experience CNC programming machining for electrodes preferred.
• 1+ year of pulling or designing electrodes preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints and GD&T.

Responsibilities

• Create conversational programs, setup and/or operate sinker/wire EDM machines.
• Program/operate graphite CNC machining.
• Pull/Design electrodes.
• Optimize electrode design with the engineering team.
• Machine electrodes to required tolerances while meeting completion dates.
• Develop, track, and optimize machining, sinker and wire parameters for materials and finishes.
• Develop fixtures to support EDM area.
• Perform preventive maintenance on EDM machines.
• Perform other machining functions while machines run.
• Measure and inspect tight tolerance parts with gauges and micrometers.
