Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an EDM Machinist (Starlink) to support high-scale production. You will set up and program sinker EDMs, machine electrodes, and work closely with engineers to optimize tooling and parameters for copper and graphite parts.

The role requires experience with sinker EDM programming, electrode design, blueprints interpretation, and the ability to work overtime or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 3+ years sinker EDM programming experience.

Responsibilities

• Create conversational programs, setup and operate sinker/wire EDM machines.
• Program/operate graphite CNC machining.
• Optimize electrode design with the design team.
• Machine electrodes to required tolerances and meet deadlines.
• Develop and optimize machining parameters for different materials.
• Provide fixturing to support the EDM area.
• Perform preventative maintenance on EDM equipment.
• Assist with other machining tasks as needed.
• Measure and inspect tight tolerance parts using gauges and micrometers.
