Job summary

VERSANT Media's CNBC Markets team seeks an experienced financial news editor to lead editing of stock market stories and investing coverage, and to manage reporters toward publication.

The editor will assign and edit stories, edit investing newsletters, shape enterprise pieces, guide researchers, and spot market trends to build compelling narratives for a national audience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years editing experience in financial news.
• Minimum 3 years managing direct reports.
• Strong knowledge of various financial markets.
• Editing for speed and quality.
• Solid communication, providing positive feedback.
• Experiencing managing a team of journalists.

Responsibilities

• Edit multiple fast stories a day on financial markets.
• Assign and edit stories about investing.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced financial news editor for the CNBC Markets and premium team covering equities and investing. The editor should be highly skilled at editing stories about stock and other market movements and trends, as well as stories about investing off developments in the news. The ideal candidate would have extensive editing experience, as well as broad knowledge of the financial markets and company financials. The editor should have good communication skills and be able to provide constructive feedback to make reporters’ copy better. The editor should also have experience managing a team of reporters, assigning stories and seeing them through to publication.

This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, and a variety of other discounts and perks. Salary range:$170,000-$210,000.
