Job summary

University of St. Thomas seeks an Editor III to manage Logos: A Journal of Catholic Thought and Culture. The role covers editing, production, scheduling, budgeting, and reporting to ensure high academic standards and strong promotion of the journal.

The position supports the Center for Catholic Studies and CSMA editorial staff, coordinating with university leadership to sustain international reputation and self-sufficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in English, writing, journalism, Catholic Studies, Theology, or a humanities field
• Five years of administrative or project management experience
• Experience in editing for a professional publication and/or ability to learn Logos house style (Chicago Manual of Style)

Responsibilities

• Manage production: set schedules, copy editing, art permissions, proofreading; supervise contractors.
• Oversee submission process: receive, assign reviews, track copyright rules.
• Handle marketing, ads, email campaigns, and events with CSMA/Center for Catholic Studies leadership.
• Maintain financial records, budgets, subscriptions, and revenue tracking.
