The ideal candidate has 7+ years of eDiscovery experience with a focus on collections, processing, and a broad range of data sources, including industry-leading tooling like Relativity and Purview.

Qualifications

Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP (FMG) is seeking an experienced Senior eDiscovery Data Collection Analyst to join our growing eDiscovery team. Reporting to the Manager of eDiscovery, this role is responsible for supporting complex litigation matters through defensible data collection, processing, reporting, and production workflows while serving as a trusted resource to attorneys, case teams, and junior team members.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of eDiscovery experience with a strong focus on collections and processing across a broad range of matters and data sources. Experience with industry-leading eDiscovery and forensic collection tools is highly preferred.

What You'll Do

Primary Responsibilities

  • Execute defensible data collections using industry-standard eDiscovery and forensic collection platforms.
  • Process collected data, troubleshoot errors, and provide status reporting to legal teams.
  • Develop and present collection plans based on custodian, source, date range, and matter requirements.
  • Run searches, validate results, and recommend refinements to search criteria when appropriate.
  • Create review batches and support document review workflows.
  • Prepare and manage document productions.
  • Respond to legal team questions and provide litigation support consultation.
  • Serve as a resource and mentor to junior staff on industry best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with all firm data management policies and procedures.

Litigation Support & Consulting

  • Confer with legal teams regarding collection scope, custodians, data sources, and collection methodology.
  • Provide hands-on support for eDiscovery databases and litigation technology platforms.
  • Assist with advanced search design, implementation, testing, and validation.
  • Support document review batching, production workflows, and privilege log management.
  • Consult with case teams on customized litigation support tools and applications.
  • Contribute to departmental training materials, presentations, and documentation.
  • Support special projects and strategic eDiscovery initiatives.
  • Apply firm technology and operational standards established by leadership.

Preferred Technology Experience

Experience with one or more of the following platforms is highly desirable:

  • Microsoft Purview
  • Google Vault
  • Forensic Email Collector (FEC)
  • Page Vault
  • ModeOne
  • Cellebrite
  • Hearsay
  • Relativity
  • Comparable eDiscovery and forensic collection platforms

Education & Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience supporting eDiscovery legal teams.
  • Thorough understanding of the litigation lifecycle and eDiscovery processes.
  • Experience supporting collections, processing, productions, and review workflows.
  • Experience advising case teams on data collection, privacy, information governance, and security best practices.
  • Experience supporting Early Case Assessment (ECA) and defensible data reduction strategies.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing deadlines and case requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across offices and departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify gaps, propose solutions, and take ownership of projects.
