Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to support the Department of Veterans Affairs in a 100% US-based remote role. You will own Edifecs platform management, guide architecture decisions, and ensure operational stability across Edifecs XEServer, XEngine, TPMs, and related modules.

We require 10+ years in EDI/healthcare or enterprise operations, strong AWS experience, and a Public Trust (MBI) clearance.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of EDIFECS architecture and transaction lifecycles.
Experience in AWS cloud environments.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Hands-on understanding of platform architecture and operational behaviors.

Responsibilities

Act as the Edifecs Platform Manager leading the Edifecs application support organization, ensuring operational stability, scalability, compliance, and strategic alignment.
Provide technical oversight, manage staffing, and drive roadmap execution.
Partner with product, architecture, vendor, and business teams.
Guide architecture decisions, modernization efforts, cloud scalability, and performance strategies.
Configure and maintain XEServer, XEngine, TPMs, SpecBuilder, and related modules.
Guide EDI Analysts with building, deployment, and optimization of Edifecs processing rules, routing logic, and batch workflows.
