Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the Edifecs platform operations in a fully remote U.S. based role.

You will oversee Edifecs XEServer/XEngine, TPM, SpecBuilder, and EDI workflows, ensuring stability, security, and scalable processing for healthcare data interchange. The ideal candidate has 10+ years in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise operations, strong AWS experience, and the ability to translate architecture decisions into actionable plans with stakeholders

Qualifications

Extensive experience with EDIFECS platform and AWS.
Strong understanding of EDIFECS architecture and transaction lifecycles.
Experience in healthcare EDI and enterprise operations.

Responsibilities

Act as the Edifecs Platform Manager leading the Edifecs application support organization, ensuring operational stability, scalability, compliance, and strategic alignment
Provide technical oversight, manage staffing, and drive roadmap execution
Partner with product, architecture, vendor, and business teams
Guide architecture decisions, modernization efforts, cloud scalability, and performance strategies
Configure and maintain XEServer, XEngine, TPMs, SpecBuilder, and related modules
Guide EDI Analysts with building, deployment, and optimization of Edifecs processing rules, routing logic, and batch workflows
Analyze and resolve mapping issues, validation failures, functional errors, and performance bottlenecks
Manage system logging, JVM tuning, and certificate/keystore configurations
Support release deployments, environment refreshes, patching, and upgrades
Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, Cloud teams, and business teams
