Job summary

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead Edifecs platform management in a remote U.S.-based role. You will drive operational stability, scalability, and compliance while coordinating with EDI analysts and cloud teams.

The role requires deep Edifecs experience, strong AWS knowledge, and a proven ability to communicate architecture decisions to non-technical stakeholders. This is a 100% remote, W-2 position open to eligible US candidates.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of EDIFECS architecture and transaction lifecycles.
• Hands-on AWS cloud experience.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Understanding of Edifecs platform architecture and operational behaviors.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Edifecs Platform Manager leading the Edifecs application support organization, ensuring operational stability, scalability, compliance, and strategic alignment.
• Provide technical oversight, manage staffing, and drive roadmap execution.
• Partner with product, architecture, vendor, and business teams.
• Guide architecture decisions, modernization efforts, cloud scalability, and performance strategies.
• Configure and maintain XEServer, XEngine, TPMs, SpecBuilder, and related modules.
• Guide EDI Analysts with building, deployment, and optimization of Edifecs processing rules and routes.
• Analyze and resolve mapping issues, validation failures, and performance bottlenecks.
• Manage system logging, JVM tuning, and certificate configurations.
• Support releases, environment refreshes, patches, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps, Cloud teams, and business teams.
