Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a senior integration engineer to perform solution-level technical analysis, design and build EDI integrations, and lead testing and defect resolution. You will translate designs into working implementations and guide distributed teams to maintain delivery momentum.

The role requires hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Integrator, EDI mappings, various file formats, and API/Web services, plus strong security, logging, and scalability knowledge.

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling Integrator 5.2.6 or above.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, supporting, and monitoring EDI IBM Sterling integrator.
  • Strong knowledge of business process development.
  • Extensive map development exposure (X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, JSON).
  • Proficiency with FTP, SFTP, AS2, VAN communication protocols.

Leads day‑to‑day technical execution of integration and API projects. Translates solution designs and architecture guidance into working implementations. Ensures code quality, consistency, and adherence to standards. Learn and adopt new technologies, tools, and frameworks, applying them effectively to delivery needs. Work independently with globally distributed teams, providing day‑to‑day technical leadership, mentoring junior team members, conducting code reviews, and ensuring adherence to best practices. Act as the primary technical escalation point for the development team, helping unblock issues, troubleshoot complex defects, and maintain delivery momentum.

Required Qualifications
  • 8-10 years of hands‑on experience on IBM Sterling Integrator version 5.2.6 or above.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing, maintaining, supporting, and monitoring of EDI IBM Sterling integrator.
  • Good knowledge and hands‑on experience in business process development.
  • Extensive exposure to map development (X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, Flat files, JSON).
  • Good understanding of communication protocols like FTP, SFTP, AS2, VAN.
  • Experience with various file formats such as ANSI X12, EDIFACT, XML, cXML, CSV, JSON, Flat files.
  • Proficiency in DB2+SQL, XML, XSLT, Web services, APIs, FTP/SFTP.
  • Strong understanding of core architectural concepts for EDI implementations, including:
    • Encryption and security fundamentals
    • Authentication and authorization
    • Logging and monitoring
    • Throttling and traffic management
    • Scalability, clustering, and availability concepts
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and collaborate with team.
  • Self‑starter and independent learner.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
