Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on Akamai Edge Security experience.
• Proven ability tuning bot detections and mitigating Layer 7 threats.
• Solid understanding of OWASP Top 10 and API security risks.
• Experience with AWS networking and edge integration in hybrid routing.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS, Cybersecurity, or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and maintain Akamai WAF rulesets and bot detection policy.
• Collaborate with AWS migration teams on routing cutovers and policy parity.
• Act as Tier-3 escalation during Layer 7 attacks and incidents with rapid RCA.
• Define evaluation methods for rule updates, staging, and false-positive suppression.
• Integrate Akamai data streams with Splunk/Datadog for threat dashboards.
