United States Digital Space LLC seeks a backend engineer to design, build, and operate a high‑performance cache and proxy data plane at the edge, built on Pingora. You will deliver fast, reliable content delivery and connect to customer origins while shaping cross‑team collaboration.

You will own features end to end, contribute to production services, and focus on latency, resilience, and security. This role involves on‑call responsibilities and close collaboration with product and engineering

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of professional experience designing, building, and operating production software systems.
• Proficiency in at least one systems or backend language such as Rust, Go, C, or C++, with a willingness to work in Rust.
• Solid understanding of HTTP semantics and transport protocols (TCP, TLS, QUIC).
• Experience designing secure, resilient, high-performance distributed systems.
• Experience with Linux systems, networking, concurrency, and performance analysis.
• Proven production ownership including monitoring, debugging, on-call, and reliability improvements.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write clear technical designs and lead projects.

Responsabilités

• Design, build, and operate the high‑performance cache and proxy data plane at the edge.
• Contribute to Pingora and production services, improving I/O, concurrency, memory and tail latency.
• Improve cache correctness and performance through eviction policies and range-request handling.
• Build globally distributed purge and Tiered Cache systems to reduce origin load.
• Deliver shared platform capabilities and APIs for cache keys, TTLs, purge behavior, and Workers access.
• Own features end to end: designs, implementation, tests, rollouts, and production operation.
• Participate in on-call rotation, lead incident response and post‑mortems, improve reliability.
