Job summary

Kargo is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to build high-performance C++ systems for machine vision on edge devices. You will develop perception systems using 3D computer vision and deploy AI-enabled edge infrastructure across a growing fleet of devices in real-world environments.

The role requires 5+ years of software engineering experience, strong Linux production know-how, and a background in computer vision, ML/AI, robotics, or edge computing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in C++ and modern software development practices.
• Experience building production systems on Linux.
• Experience with computer vision, ML/AI, robotics, or edge computing.
• Strong debugging and performance optimization skills.
• Degree or Masters in CS/CE/EE/Robotics or related field.

Responsibilities

• Build high-performance C++ systems for machine vision and AI on edge devices, processing gigabytes of data per second.
• Develop advanced perception systems using 3D computer vision.
• Build agentic AI systems to deploy, manage, and monitor a growing fleet of edge devices in real-world environments.
• Design and implement scalable software for distributed edge infrastructure and device management.
• Optimize system performance, reliability, and scalability across hardware and software.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering and product teams to deliver production-ready solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, technical guidance, and engineering best practices.
