Job summary

Cerence is seeking a Senior Application Developer to craft intelligent applications for frontline workers and manufacturing operators. You will integrate Cerence SDK technologies, embedded Small Language Models, and edge AI into tablets, rugged devices, HMIs, and control panels.

Responsibilities include cross-device development across Android and iOS, integrating STT, TTS, NLU, and workflows, and deploying on-edge AI for offline operation.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade embedded or edge applications for Android, iOS, tablets, rugged devices, or industrial HMIs.
• Experience deploying embedded AI, Small Language Models (SLMs), and on-device inference.
• Strong proficiency in Kotlin, Java, C++, or similar languages.
• Experience building connected and offline-capable applications.

Responsibilities

• Build applications used directly on factory floors and industrial environments.
• Integrate Cerence SDK and speech technologies into edge devices and workflows.
• Enable voice-driven maintenance, troubleshooting, safety, and productivity use cases.
• Deliver embedded AI experiences on-device with SLMs and Edge AI.
• Create intuitive user experiences that improve frontline worker efficiency and visibility.
