Job summary

Cerence Inc. is seeking a Senior Application Developer to build intelligent apps for frontline workers across Android tablets, rugged devices, and industrial HMIs. You will integrate Cerence SDKs, embedded SLMs, and edge AI into edge devices and enterprise workflows.

You will deliver voice-enabled experiences for maintenance, inspection, safety, and productivity while ensuring offline-capable operation and seamless MES/ERP connectivity.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production-grade embedded or edge applications.
• Experience deploying on Android, iOS, or equivalent embedded platforms.
• Experience integrating SDKs, middleware, APIs, and device-level capabilities.
• Hands-on experience with Speech-to-Text, Text-to-Speech, Voice Assistants, or Conversational AI.

Responsibilities

• Cross-Device Application Development on Android tablets, iOS devices, rugged handhelds, and HMIs.
• SDK & Middleware Integration to enable STT, TTS, NLU, and voice-driven workflows.
• Frontline Worker Applications for maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, safety, and warehousing.
• Frontline Process Applications for operator assistance and digital work instructions.
• Embedded AI & SLM Integration for low-latency, offline-capable experiences.
• Enterprise Connectivity with MES, ERP, PLM, and industrial data services.
