Job summary

Samsung Semiconductor, Inc. in San Jose, CA seeks a Senior Staff Engineer to standardize EDA environments and scale compute infrastructure across design groups. You will drive licensing strategy, tool qualification, and DevOps platform governance to boost productivity and reduce costs.

You will lead LSF-based compute farm buildout, manage license servers, and build robust user login environments. Strong collaboration across multiple design teams is essential.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 15+ years in CAD/CAE, EDA infrastructure or engineering IT in semiconductor design.
• Experience building and operating EDA design environments with design organizations.
• Experience with license contract management, license servers and capacity optimization.
• Experience building and operating large-scale compute farms with LSF/SLURM and tuning scheduling.
• Ability deploy remote login environments (Exceed TurboX, VNC, X11) and provide support.
• Hands-on Linux system administration and scripting in Python/Perl/Tcl/sh.

Responsibilities

• Define standard EDA design processes and guidelines for onboarding and tool qualification.
• Set up, deploy, operate, and support EDA tool environments used by design teams.
• Lead vendor management, contract renewals, and license quantity planning.
• Own architecture and operation of license servers and capacity optimization.
• Define roadmap for EDA design environment and compute infrastructure.
• Design and optimize LSF compute farm, including scheduling and policy tuning.
• Build and operate user login environments (Exceed TurboX, VNC, X11).
• Govern and migrate DevOps platforms (Jira, Confluence) for compliance and efficiency.
• Drive consolidation and standardization across Enterprise R&D software.
