Job summary

Mercy Health in Fairfield, OH seeks an ED Tech Advanced to support emergency department patients under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role includes direct patient care, vital signs, and collaboration with the ED team to ensure high-quality care.

Responsibilities include IV insertion/removal, wound care, patient transport, and accurate charting. Must have a high school diploma or GED; AEMT program preferred and at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) program is preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience as an LPN, ED Tech, or Advanced EMT is required.

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including vital signs, hygiene, and mobility under RN guidance.
• Performs IV insertion/removal and IV site care as directed.
• Completes patient rounding and 1:1 safety companion services.
• Documents care accurately and timely.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse and reports changes.
• Prepares for handoffs and maintains safety and quality.
