Qualifications

• Must hold a current Texas RN license and permit to practice.
• BLS certification required at hire and maintained.
• ACLS & PALS/ENPC certifications are required.
• Experienced ED nurses must have upon hire.
• Non-experienced ED nurses must obtain within 6 months from date of hire.
• TNCC must be obtained within 6 months from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents daily patient care.
• Provides patient/family education using Teach-Back and evidence-based resources.
• Coordinates care and maintains safety with effective hand-offs and inter-disciplinary rounds.
• Demonstrates professional performance including ethics, advocacy, and cultural care.
• Communicates clearly with the care team and participates in unit leadership.
• Participates in education, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice activities.
• Maintains compliance with UTMB policies and documentation standards.
