Job summary

Qualifications

• RN with six months of clinical RN experience and/or completion of probationary NC I period.
• Must possess and maintain a current Registered Nurse license or valid permit to practice in Texas.
• Current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents the daily care of assigned patients.
• Identifies nursing diagnoses/patient care needs and develops an individualized care plan.
• Administers medications and treatments per physician orders and UTMB policies.
• Delivers culturally congruent and specialty-appropriate nursing care.
• Performs routine technical procedures/skills in the assigned specialty area.
• Provides patient/family instruction based on identified learning needs and uses Teach-Back to ensure understanding.
• Plans, coordinates, and prioritizes patient care activities with the inter-professional team.
• Demonstrates leadership and participates in unit meetings and quality improvement activities.
