Job summary

Inter-American Development Bank in Washington DC seeks an Economics Senior Specialist or Economics Specialist to advance development effectiveness across Bank projects and programs. Qualifications

• Master’s degree in economics, Statistics, Public Policy, or a similarly relevant field; doctoral degree desirable.
• At least five years of relevant experience in program evaluation, applied economics, and development economics.
• Languages: proficiency in Spanish and English; Portuguese/French helpful.

Responsibilities

• Assess operational documents from the perspective of achieving development results.
• Provide guidance on development effectiveness, including theory of change, results matrix, economic analysis, monitoring, and evaluation.
• Lead training for internal and external audiences on development effectiveness topics and tools.
• Improve development effectiveness processes, tools and systems through evidence collection and collaboration.
• Co-lead design, oversight, and execution of project evaluations, including econometric and statistical analysis.
• Collaborate on analyses and background studies on strategic areas; disseminate technical notes.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior staff and consultants.
