Job summary

GEI Consultants in Sacramento, CA seeks a senior-level ecological restoration specialist to join our environmental practice. You will lead and manage ecological restoration and conservation projects across California, interfacing with clients and multidisciplinary teams to meet project goals.

The role emphasizes winning work, developing restoration plans, and delivering technical documents while mentoring staff.

Qualifications

BA/BS, MS/PhD in life sciences or related field required.
15 years of experience in ecological restoration and natural resource management.
Experience winning new work and leading proposal teams.
Experience designing and implementing habitat restoration projects.
Field experience in riverine, riparian, wetland, or prairie habitats.
Knowledge of California plant communities and invasive species control.
Ability to communicate complex data clearly and work with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage ecological restoration conceptual plans, drawings, specs, and cost estimates.
Lead habitat mitigation, monitoring, and conservation plans.
Oversee restoration construction including planting, seeding, erosion control, and invasive species management.
Serve as Project Director/Manager and manage client relations and project finances.
Translate technical data into clear visuals and concepts for stakeholders.
Oversee staff conducting field surveys, literature review, and reports.
Coordinate with engineers, planners, and other specialists to deliver projects.
