Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA, seeks an experienced ECG Technologist to perform electrocardiograms, Holter monitoring, and data management within the Cardiovascular Center. You will support stress testing, serve as a superuser for the ECG system, and train physicians to interpret ECGs, while maintaining professional conduct and adaptability in a busy academic health system.

The role requires three years of acute care EKG experience, knowledge of complex arrhythmias, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Understanding of medical terminology, infectious control techniques and age related acuity levels
• Certificate of completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia class
• Willing to travel between locations within the health system as needed
• Minimum three years of EKG experience in the acute care setting
• Knowledge of complex cardiac arrhythmias
• Experience in recognition of arrhythmia
• Current BLS certification
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
• Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a constantly changing environment

Responsibilities

• Performs ECGs, Holter monitor testing and data management.
• Assists in the stress lab and sets up TEE when needed.
• Superuser for the ECG management system database, processes and teaching physicians to read ECGs online.
• Display professional conduct in interactions with staff, patients and visitors; self-motivated and able to work independently.
