Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks a software-fluent ECAD Interdisciplinary Systems Engineer to build automation that connects EE design systems (Xpedition, EDM, Teamcenter) into a reliable configuration management backbone. You will create intelligent IDX-exchange tooling, automate BOM reconciliation, and harmonize ECAD/MCAD workflows to scale with the program.

You will work across Xpedition, EDM, and Teamcenter to reduce manual handoffs, improve data integrity, and accelerate tooling velocity within the EE

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering tooling development, PLM integration, or ECAD systems administration.
• Proficiency in software development (Python, Java, or C#) with ability to build production-quality automation tools.
• Hands-on experience with PLM/PDM system APIs (Teamcenter SOA/RAC preferred).
• Experience with ECAD tools and data formats (Mentor/Siemens Xpedition preferred; familiarity with EDM component library management).
• Understanding of PCBA design workflows, BOM structures, and engineering release processes.

Responsibilities

• Custom Integration Tooling: design, build, and maintain automation across Xpedition, EDM, and Teamcenter.
• BOM Reconciliation Automation: ensure Teamcenter BOM, Xpedition BOM, and supply-chain BOMs are in sync.
• IDX Exchange Improvement: automate and harden ECAD-MCAD collaboration workflow and guardrails.
• Build-to-Design Loop Closure: pull as-built BOM data back into engineering tools for data accuracy.
• Component Dimensional Integrity Tooling: verify dimensional consistency between EDM and Teamcenter.
• Release Workflow Automation: enforce component maturity, BOM consistency, and data completeness before PCBA release.
• Tooling Backlog Ownership: manage EE tooling backlog and identify high-impact automation.
• Cross-Domain Integration: ensure tooling integrates with mechanical tooling for unified workflows.
• Developer Documentation: maintain docs for tooling, APIs, and integrations.
