Job summary

Parsons in Las Vegas, NV is seeking an experienced E&I Start Up/Commissioning Specialist to lead startup, testing, and commissioning activities for critical infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with O&M staff, CM team, QA inspectors, and vendors to ensure all commissioning steps meet contract requirements and safety standards.

The role requires a 4-year technical degree and 10+ years in plant operations, maintenance, or commissioning, with deep knowledge of startup procedures,

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in a technical or construction-related field (or equivalent experience).
• 10+ years diverse experience in plant operations, maintenance or commissioning.
• Excellent knowledge of plant commissioning, operations, and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Review project documents to ensure adequate language for contractor planning.
• Review testing and start-up plans and commissioning schedules.
• Coordinate with O&M staff during testing to minimize disruption.
• Work with CM team and QA inspectors to document testing requirements.
• Secure CM resources to document testing outcomes and field installations.
• Oversee startup, testing, and commissioning activities either directly or via oversight.
• Verify tests are completed per procedures and contract requirements.
• Coordinate end-to-end tests with Start-up Manager and SCADA staff.
• Oversee pre-test checks to ensure readiness for testing.
• Verify piping and vessel hydrostatic testing and flushing are complete.
• Ensure testing equipment is calibrated and electrical acceptance tested.
• Coordinate functional and performance testing of the facility.
