Job summary

Zola in NYC seeks a smart Category Manager to build assortments and drive a best-in-class e-commerce experience. You will own assortment strategy, mentor one direct report, and partner with Planning, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product & Engineering.

You will leverage data analytics and financial modeling to guide pricing, margins, and site merchandising, while negotiating with vendors and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of e-commerce buying or category management experience in a fast-paced environment.
• 2+ years of experience managing a direct report.
• Strong analytical and retail math skills with data-driven decision making.
• Excellent negotiation, verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and AI productivity tools.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Director of Merchandising and manage 1 team member.
• Develop a clear strategic vision for your business aligned with Zola's objectives.
• Use data to inform assortment strategy, site merchandising, and pricing decisions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners in Planning, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Product & Engineering.
• Lead vendor negotiations and drive margin optimization and assortment growth.
