Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design, implement and operate DWDM and IP backbone solutions for European data centre customers. You will join a growing team and influence network design with hands-on lab testing and close collaboration with sales.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in modern network technologies, DWDM (1G-800G), IPv6, Juniper MX/PTX/QFX/EX, Adtran FSP3000, Linux, and programming skills (Python/Go). Fluency in German is required.

Qualifications

• Completed degree or equivalent vocational training in IT or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of modern network technologies and IP/IPv6.
• Experience with DWDM planning and operation across 1G–800G.
• Solid Linux knowledge and scripting ability (Python/Go).

Responsibilities

• Plan, implement and operate connectivity solutions for data centre customers, including IP backbone products and DWDM interconnects.
• Support 2nd-level operations and customer requests, participate in on-call rotation.
• Contribute to design and evolution of the network infrastructure.
• Produce documentation to ensure stable and secure operation.
• Collaborate with sales to provide technical consultancy and cross-functional solutions.
