Job summary

Airbnb is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to own features end-to-end across iOS and Android, writing production code in Swift and Kotlin. You will serve as a technical authority ensuring architectural coherence, performance, and app size parity across both platforms.

You will collaborate with Product and Design to translate specifications into platform-native UI/UX, mentor teammates, and help shape shared contracts (GraphQL schema, logging, testing) for both apps.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Hands-on expertise in both iOS (Swift, UIKit, SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin, Jetpack Compose).
• Proven track record shipping features on both platforms independently.
• Strong mobile-architecture and performance experience.
• Ability to collaborate with product and design teams to refine requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and ship features natively across both iOS and Android.
• Translate product specs into platform-idiomatic UI/UX implementations.
• Maintain architectural coherence and optimize app size and performance.
• Shape shared client contracts (GraphQL schema, logging, testing) for both apps.
• Mentor and pair program to onboard dual-platform development teams.
• Participate in technical reviews and architecture discussions.
