Job summary

Benchmark Education Company in the United States is seeking a Dual Language Senior Content Developer to lead development projects for Core and Supplemental materials. You will coordinate with Editorial, vendors, and freelance writers to ensure content guidelines are observed and quality is maintained.

The role requires 7+ years in literacy material development, a BA in English or education (MA a plus), and strong Spanish writing and editing skills.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience developing literacy materials for an educational publisher.
• Bachelor's degree in English, education, or a related field.
• Superior Spanish writing & editing skills. Strong project management skills.
• Current knowledge of language, literacy and content issues, research and standards.
• Intermediate-Advanced proficiency with MS Office; Basic proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with vendors, colleagues, and freelance writers developing content, ensuring that content guidelines are observed.
• Review, edit, and approve manuscript and production stages with copy editors, designers, and photo researchers.
• Incorporate feedback from Professional Development, Sales and Marketing, Editorial management, and outside reviewers.
• Develop and maintain writing and editing guidelines.
• Request and review vendor and writer samples and provide feedback to ensure quality control.
• Attend status meetings with Executive Content Developer or Senior Content Developer to report on workflow and content issues.
• Create or update Product Library documentation.
• Support Sales and Marketing by reviewing pullouts, space ads, and other sales tools for accuracy.
