Job summary

Collins Aerospace, a RTX company, seeks a Senior DSP FPGA/ASIC Engineer in Cedar Rapids, IA to design, develop, and implement DSP algorithms on FPGA/ASIC platforms. You will model with Simulink, collaborate across teams, and optimize implementations for real-world aerospace applications.

You will provide guidance to junior engineers, align with hardware/software teams, and stay current with FPGA advancements to keep RTX at the forefront of innovation.

Qualifications

• STEM degree plus 5+ years experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years relevant work.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government secret clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required for security clearance eligibility.
• 3+ years in signal processing, FPGA/ASIC development, or related areas.
• Expertise with Simulink and MATLAB for DSP modeling.
• Proficient in VHDL/Verilog for FPGA/ASIC design and implementation.
• Familiar with FPGA platforms (Xilinx/Altera) and toolchains (Vivado/Quartus).

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement signal processing algorithms for FPGA/ASIC systems.
• Use Simulink for modeling and simulation of DSP workflows.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, test, and validate DSP algorithms.
• Optimize FPGA implementations for performance, power, and size.
• Conduct system-level analysis and testing to meet project requirements.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Possibly lead project design teams by planning activities and reporting status.
• Work with hardware, software, and systems engineers to integrate DSP solutions.
