Job summary

Actalent is seeking a DSP Software Engineer to lead firmware and real-time embedded software development for advanced audio products in Burnsville, MN. You will guide technical direction across embedded firmware, hardware/software integration, and system design, while promoting automation and operational excellence.

The role combines hands-on engineering with strategic leadership, ensuring product reliability, regulatory compliance, and performance. Travel is ~5% domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 10 years of software/firmware development experience in RT embedded systems.
• At least 5 years in engineering management leading firmware teams.
• Strong embedded firmware development using C and C++.

Responsibilities

• Lead firmware and real-time embedded software development for complex audio products.
• Own continuation engineering activities including maintenance releases.
• Collaborate with Product Management to define requirements and backlogs.
• Drive CI/CD pipelines, toolchains, and automated testing frameworks.
• Provide technical leadership in embedded firmware, hardware/software integration.
