Job summary

Patterson-UTI Drilling Company, LLC is seeking a Senior Drilling Optimization Engineer to lead performance analytics and optimization for on-shore drilling rigs. You will analyze drilling data, develop reports and visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, and other tools, and drive operational excellence across rigs and regions.

You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with operations, support teams, and customers, and spend time in the field to understand conditions firsthand while building

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2 years of experience with large data sets and analytics.
• 3 years of experience in the drilling industry supporting drilling rig operations.
• Eligible to drive Company or personal vehicle for Company purposes including ability to meet requirements of Company's Vehicle Use Agreement and Driving Policy

Responsibilities

• Interface with stakeholders to support day-to-day performance and operational initiatives.
• Track, analyze, and manage KPIs to identify performance trends and areas for improvement.
• Develop and recommend strategies to improve KPIs across rigs and customer operations.
• Assess rig and operational processes to identify inefficiencies and support performance improvements.
• Create roadmaps and heatmaps for operational phases to guide planning and execution.
• Coach and train personnel on performance tools and data reporting.
