QB Energy in Denver, CO, seeks a Senior Drilling Engineer to plan, engineer, and support safe, efficient drilling operations. The role requires extensive drilling experience, proficiency in well planning software, and strong leadership to guide crews and contractors.

The successful candidate will collaborate with geologists, reservoir, land, and EHS teams, ensure regulatory compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement in drilling practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years drilling engineering experience.
• Proficiency in well planning software and drilling techniques.
• Well control principles knowledge; safety focus.
• Professional Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver engineered drilling and well construction programs, procedures, and cost estimates.
• Lead technical planning for wells, including design, casing, cementing and risk assessment.
• Coordinate Plan Forward drilling procedures with crews and ensure consistency across operations.
• Review offset data and select efficient, safe service contractors and materials.
• Maintain WellView data, file quality daily drilling reports, and ensure EH&S adherence.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and collaborate with geologists, reservoir and EHS teams.
