Job summary

BGE, Inc. is a nationwide civil engineering consulting firm seeking a drainage engineer to support municipal and private infrastructure projects in Texas. The candidate will design storm drainage systems, perform hydraulic analyses, and prepare technical memos and reports.

Required is a BS in Civil Engineering and a PE license (or ability to obtain reciprocity within six months). A minimum of five years of drainage experience and proficiency in ORD-DU, ORD, MicroStation, Civil 3D, or AutoCAD is

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain Texas PE reciprocity within six months.
• Minimum of 5 years of drainage engineering experience on municipal/public works projects.
• Experience designing storm sewer systems, detention facilities, open channels, culverts, and roadway drainage improvements.
• Familiarity with ORD-DU, MicroStation, ORD, Civil 3D and/or AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review drainage design plans, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, and reports for public infrastructure projects.
• Develop drainage solutions compliant with municipal and regulatory requirements.
• Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses, storm sewer sizing, and detention pond analysis.
• Use ORD-DU to analyze drainage systems and develop improvements.
• Coordinate with roadway, water, wastewater, structural, survey, environmental, and planning teams.
• Prepare project deliverables including studies, reports, and agency submittals.
• Participate in client meetings, progress reviews, and agency reviews.
• Provide technical support during design development, QA/QC, and RFI responses.
• Mentor junior staff and assist with project delivery and quality control.
