Rinker Design Associates, LLC (RDA) seeks a Drainage Engineer with 4+ years of drainage design experience to join our team in multiple Virginia locations, including Fredericksburg. You will design stormwater systems and culverts for transportation projects while ensuring compliance with VDOT, state, and local requirements.

The role emphasizes hydrologic/hydraulic design, project management, and collaboration with civil engineers, contractors, and VDOT personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field.
• 4+ years of drainage design experience.
• Professional Engineer license or EIT with intent to obtain PE within 1 year.
• Proficiency with hydraulic modeling software and design standards (VDOT/State/Local).

Responsibilities

• Design stormwater management systems, culverts, drains for roadways and bridges per regulatory standards.
• Manage hydraulic design elements across transportation projects for VDOT/locality.
• Assist in environmental compliance related to stormwater and floodplain regulations.
• Review erosion and sediment control design and field inspection per requirements.
• Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and VDOT personnel to integrate drainage with project goals.
• Prepare drainage calculations and technical documents for project submission.
