GFT is seeking a Sr. Drainage Engineer to join the Southeast Transportation Group on a hybrid schedule in Orlando, FL or Maitland, FL.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, or Transportation Engineering (or related field).
• 10+ years of drainage design experience for highway/roadway projects.
• Proficient in OpenRoads Designer.
• Strong knowledge of FDOT Design Manual, Standard Plans, and Drainage Manual.
• Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida or ability to obtain in 6 months (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, plans, specifications, and permitting documents.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, including stormwater collection system analysis.
• Develop stormwater management designs and obtain permits in compliance with state and local regulations.
• Review drainage designs, plans, and reports for FDOT and municipal transportation projects.
• Ensure design quality, technical accuracy, and compliance with applicable FDOT standards and guidelines.

What You Will Do

GFT is seeking a dedicated and Sr. Drainage Engineer to join our Southeast Transportation Group. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at either our Orlando or Maitland, FL office.

What You’ll Be Challenged To Do

You’ll support transportation and infrastructure projects by preparing engineering calculations, technical reports, drainage designs, and permitting documents. Your work will involve hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, stormwater management design, and ensuring compliance with FDOT and local standards.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

Compensation

The range for this position is salary range is $100,000 - $150,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
