Job summary

Smith-Rowe,-LL in North Carolina is seeking a Dozer Operator in the Grading Department. Local candidates with 3–5 years of highway grading experience are preferred.

You will perform pre- and post-shift inspections, operate a dozer, read grade stakes, and work with grade checkers, laser, or GPS to maintain grade. Must have a valid driver's license, be safety oriented, able to travel, and capable of working overtime.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years’ experience with emphasis on roads, highways, and bridges, preferred.
• Knowledge and use of GPS systems preferred.
• High school diploma/GED, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs pre and post daily inspection of dozer to ensure machine is in proper working order.
• Maintains clean housekeeping on machine and jobsite.
• Cuts ditches, slopes, grades, clears brush, shapes and dresses slopes and other earth moving activities.
• Reads grade stakes and works with grade checker, laser, or GPS to maintain grade.
• Other duties as requested.
