Job summary

Newsco International Energy Services seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to guide the design, validation, and sustainment of advanced electronic systems for downhole drilling and measurement tech. You will lead cross-functional teams across global projects, ensuring performance and reliability in HPHT environments.

The role requires hands-on board-level design, system architecture, and collaboration with customers, suppliers, and operations to drive innovation and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; 7–10 years in electrical engineering, R&D, or product development.
• Hands-on board-level design and ruggedization, bring-up, and debugging.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally; valid passport.
• Experience with downhole telemetry and high-temperature electronics is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, validation, commercialization, and sustaining support of electrical and electronic systems for downhole tools.
• Develop system architectures, specifications, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Own PCB and electronic hardware development from concept through production release.
• Ensure reliability in HPHT downhole environments and harsh conditions.
• Provide technical leadership across multiple projects and global teams.
• Execute verification, environmental, and reliability test programs.
• Lead root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Manage domestic and international projects, meeting technical, schedule, and budget goals.
• Support field trials, launches, customer demos, and operations teams.
• Identify and implement new technologies and IP opportunities.
