Professional Recruiting Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Estimator for heavy civil, highway, and bridge bids in the Raleigh area. Lead from takeoff to bid day on DOT projects, with strong focus on crew/equipment costing and subcontractor quotes.

The ideal candidate will have 7+ years of heavy civil estimating, DOT bid experience, and a civil engineering or construction management degree. Relocation to Raleigh welcomed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of heavy civil estimating with lead estimator experience on DOT bids.
• DOT highway/bridge estimate experience preferred; NCDOT familiarity a plus.
• Contractor-side estimating experience (not design).

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates on heavy civil highway and bridge bids from takeoff through bid day.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specs.
• Build crew, equipment, and production-based cost estimates.
• Solicit, level, and evaluate subcontractor quotes.
• Develop bid strategy and pricing with leadership.
• Attend prebid meetings and site visits.
• Track NCDOT lettings and build the bid schedule.
• Mentor junior estimators and maintain estimating database.
• Hand off awarded work with a clean budget.
• Review bid results and capture lessons for future estimates.
