Job summary

SourcePro Search, LLC is seeking a Senior Estimator for heavy civil highway and bridge projects in the Raleigh area. You will own estimates from takeoff to bid day on NCDOT work, leading bids and mentoring junior estimators.

Candidates should have 7+ years of heavy civil estimating with DOT bid experience, strong takeoff and pricing skills, and the ability to develop bid strategies with leadership. Relocation to Raleigh or local Triangle area is preferred.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of heavy civil estimating with lead estimator exposure on DOT bids.
• Experience with highway, bridge, earthwork, paving and drainage estimating.
• Strong takeoff and production-based pricing skills.
• Contractor-side estimating experience (not design).
• Relation to Triangle Raleigh area or willingness to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Lead estimates on heavy civil highway and bridge bids from takeoff through bid day.
• Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specs.
• Build crew, equipment and production-based cost estimates.
• Solicit, level and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.
• Develop bid strategy, risk review and pricing with leadership.
• Attend prebid meetings and site visits.
• Track NCDOT lettings and build the bid schedule.
• Mentor junior estimators and maintain estimating database.
• Hand awarded work to project team with a clean budget.
• Review bid results and apply lessons to future estimates.
