Job summary

Proton Therapy in Miami is seeking a qualified Medical Dosimetrist to initiate and oversee the treatment planning for external beam proton plans under Radiation Oncology leadership. The role includes collaboration with physicists and oncologists to ensure accurate dose calculations and plan quality.

Additionally, the dosimetrist may assist with brachytherapy planning, contribute to training for dosimetrists and affiliate trainees, and uphold OSHA, HIPAA and the Code of Ethics within BHSF safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a physical science or RTT and a graduate of a formal, JRCERT dosimetry program.
• A Masters in Science is preferred.
• Direct dosimetry experience and CMD certification required.
• RTT experience from an accredited radiation therapy technology program is preferred.
• Experience with multiple treatment planning platforms, excellent communication skills, and leadership skills is preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description

Under the direction of the Radiation Oncologists and general supervision of the Medical Physicists, the primary role of the dosimetrist is to initiate and see-through the treatment planning process for external beam proton treatment plans. Additionally, the medical dosimetrist will, on occasion, aid in special procedures and brachytherapy treatment planning. As the program develops, the dosimetrist will also provide training to dosimetrists, physicists, radiation oncologists and affiliate trainees in dosimetry, supports and adheres to BHSF safety and compliance program to include OSHA, HIPAA and the Code of Ethics.

Degrees:

• Bachelors degree is required.

Licenses & Certifications:

• MDCB Certified Medical Dosimetrist.
