Job summary

University of Chicago Medicine in Illinois seeks a Dosimetrist II in Radiation Oncology. This full-time, day-shift, 100% onsite role is based in the greater Chicagoland area.

Under limited supervision, you will calculate dose distributions for 3-D external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy, participate in complex dose calculations for IMRT and stereotactic planning, and support physics projects and quality programs. You will mentor Dosimetrist I, Trainee and Residents as needed.

Qualifications

• CMD certification required and five years of CMD experience.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Thorough understanding of radiation safety and technical aspects of radiation therapy treatments.

Responsibilities

• Calculate dose distributions for 3-D external beam radiotherapy and brachytherapy.
• Support in IMRT and stereotactic radiotherapy planning.
• Assist in physics projects, quality control and performance improvement programs.
• Explain treatment parameters to physicist and radiation therapist and adjust as needed.
• Train Dosimetrist I, Trainee and Residents as required.
• Keep current on new planning techniques and devices.
