Job summary

UTMB Health in League City, Texas is seeking a Senior Dosimetrist to develop treatment plans and determine the optimal radiation dose for patients under the supervision of the Senior Dosimetrist and the Medical Physicist.

The role involves calculating delivery techniques, performing CT-based planning (3D conformal/IMRT), QA of CT, simulators, and high-energy linear accelerators, and creating immobilization devices and custom blocks as required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiation Therapy with two years of related experience or
• Certified Radiation Therapist with two years related experience or
• Graduate from an accredited university Dosimetry program with two years related experience

Responsibilities

• Determination of patient-specific radiation delivery technique including MU setting calculations, gap calculations, off-axis calculations and chart error makeup calculations.
• External beam treatment planning including open beam, wedge, rotation, arc, electron beams, and CT-based plans (3D conformal/IMRT).
• Assists with QA of machines and equipment (CT, simulators, linear accelerators).
• Constructs custom block templates as needed.
• Assists in immobilization and repositioning device preparation.
• Performs HDR brachytherapy QA under the direction of the medical physicist.
• Adheres to internal controls and reporting structure.
