Job summary

Akima Data Management (ADM) in Washington, DC is seeking a Technical Writer/Editor LV III to create, edit, and maintain policies and internal communications. The role involves researching, developing, and releasing documents across intranet, newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts, presentations, and speeches, with on-site work.

You will collaborate with the marketing/external communications team to plan internal and external corporate events, and drive new and existing communication channels.

Qualifications

• Active DoD Secret clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred with 3 years of documented experience or 6 years of documented experience.
• Minimum 3 years writing policy for a government agency.
• Minimum 3 years policy experience in Information Technology, Engineering, or FRCS policy environments.
• Minimum 3 years in Policy Development and Strategic Plans.
• 3 years supporting DoD DIARMF (Information Assurance Risk Management Framework).
• 3 years communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• 3 years developing and documenting processes and procedures for day-to-day operations.

Responsibilities

• Researches, develops, plans, designs, and maintains policies and materials for conveying messages.
• Writes, edits, reviews, and oversees release of internal communications such as intranet, newsletters, emails/memos, webcasts, presentations, and speeches.
• Collaborates with marketing/external communications to plan internal and external corporate events.
• Develops, implements, and improves communication avenues and channels.
• Performs tasks with moderate skill and growing proficiency within the discipline.
• Performs work under general supervision.
• Handles moderately complex issues and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
