Novul Solutions in Arlington, VA is seeking an experienced Tech Lead – Principal Software Engineer to provide technical leadership, architectural direction, and hands-on software engineering in support of mission-critical DoD systems.

The role requires full-stack skills, Agile, DevSecOps, CI/CD automation, and enterprise architecture, with responsibility for multiple engineering teams and secure deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Proven experience leading multiple engineering teams delivering complex enterprise software.
• Extensive knowledge of Agile software development, full SDLC, DevSecOps, automated testing, and CI/CD.
• Experience designing and maintaining automated DevOps pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible, Terraform.
• Experience with GitLab, GitHub, Gradle, PowerShell, YAML, Terraform, Oracle 19c, and SQL databases.
• Strong understanding of software architecture, release management, configuration management, and production deployment processes.
• Experience managing Agile project delivery using Jira or equivalent tools.
• Ability to lead technical teams and communicate with senior leadership in a classified DoD environment.

• Design, implement, and optimize automated DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD practices.
• Translate mission requirements into technical delivery plans and sprint goals.
• Oversee release management and quality assurance across environments.
• Lead and mentor senior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
• Ensure security controls and DoD compliance throughout the SDLC.
• Collaborate with product owners and leadership to align roadmaps.
• Drive continuous improvement with Agile metrics and tooling.
