Job summary

KAIROS, Inc is seeking an energetic Systems Engineer, Journeyman, to support Naval Air Systems Command programs at NAS Patuxent River, MD. The role focuses on requirements development, system integration, risk management, and lifecycle support across complex aviation and defense systems.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in a technical field and at least three years of relevant experience; DoD acquisition familiarity and MBSE experience are highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering.
• Experience with DoD acquisition and lifecycle practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles through the system lifecycle.
• Support requirements development, analysis, and validation.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to system integration, testing, and readiness reviews.
• Prepare technical reports, status updates, and briefings.
• Support risk management and lifecycle sustainment planning.
