Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Security Engineer III to lead vulnerability assessments, risk evaluations, and network security initiatives across sensitive systems. You will design and implement protections to safeguard confidentiality, integrity, and availability while driving secure engineering practices.

The role requires deep experience with RMF/ISCM, security testing, and ongoing authorization processes, and demands US citizenship with a DoD Secret (or higher) clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• IAT I, IAT II, IAM I, IAM II security certifications.
• 7+ years of security engineering experience.
• US Citizenship with DoD Secret clearance or higher.

Responsibilities

• Perform vulnerability assessments and risk analysis on DoD systems.
• Support RMF/ISCM implementation and authorization activities.
• Evaluate network security controls and implement improvements.
• Coordinate with developers, vendors, and other agencies on security issues.
• Conduct security testing, log reviews, and remediation recommendations.
