Job summary

SMX seeks a Senior VTC Engineer to serve as technical lead for design, integration, sustainment, and lifecycle management of secure AV/VTC systems supporting DoD operations. This role requires extensive DoD AV/VTC experience and TS clearance, with onsite duties at Ft.

Gordon, GA. You will lead complex installations, design secure VTC solutions for classified environments, conduct site surveys, and develop lifecycle refresh strategies while mentoring staff and liaising with Government

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 12–15 years of progressively responsible AV/VTC engineering experience in DoD or enterprise environments.
• Extensive experience with Cisco UC/CSM, Extron, Crestron, AMX.
• Experience with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching, QoS, SIP, H.323 and related protocols.
• Experience applying DISA STIGs and secure DoD collaboration environments.
• Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, networking, and conferencing tech.
• Excellent communication; ability to interface with senior military and civilian leadership.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility/access.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering, installation, integration, testing, sustainment, and modernization of enterprise AV/VTC systems.
• Design and implement secure VTC solutions for classified and unclassified environments.
• Perform site surveys, develop technical designs, and lifecycle refresh strategies for AV/VTC infra.
• Troubleshoot firmware, software, and network issues in VTC deployments.
• Configure and administer Cisco UC, Cisco Meeting Server, Extron, Crestron, and AMX systems.
• Apply STIGs and cybersecurity best practices to collaboration platforms.
• Provide technical leadership and liaison with Government customers.
• Support executive-level conferences and mission-critical communications.
• Develop documentation, SOPs, and lifecycle plans.
• Assist inventory management and technology refresh initiatives.
