Job summary
SMX is seeking a Senior VTC Engineer to lead design, integration, sustainment, and lifecycle management of secure AV/VTC systems for DoD operations. This onsite role at Fort Gordon, GA requires deep expertise in Cisco UC, Cisco Meeting Server, Extron, Crestron, and AMX, with TS/SCI eligibility, and extensive DoD collaboration experience.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
- 12–15 years AV/VTC engineering experience in enterprise or DoD environments.
- Experience designing and sustaining Cisco UC, Cisco Meeting Server, Extron, Crestron, AMX.
- Expertise in TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, routing, switching, QoS, SIP, H.323.
- Experience applying DISA STIGs for secure DoD environments.
- Strong troubleshooting across hardware, software, networking and conferencing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with leadership.
- Active CompTIA Security or DoD IAT Level II certification.
- Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility/access.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering, installation, integration, testing, sustainment, and modernization of enterprise AV/VTC systems.
- Design and implement secure VTC solutions for classified/unclassified communications.
- Perform site surveys, develop technical designs, and lifecycle refresh strategies for AV/VTC infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, networking, and conferencing issues.
- Configure, maintain, and administer Cisco UC, Cisco Meeting Server, Extron, Crestron, and AMX.
- Apply STIGs and cybersecurity best practices to collaboration systems.
- Provide technical leadership and liaison with Government customers.
- Support executive conferences and mission-critical communications.
- Develop technical documentation, drawings, SOPs, and lifecycle plans.
- Support inventory management, reporting, and technology refresh initiatives.
