Job summary

PingWind is seeking a Cybersecurity Lead in Huntsville, AL to direct the cybersecurity program for DoD/Army systems, including RMF assessment, authorization, vulnerability management, and security documentation.

The successful candidate will provide senior security leadership across systems engineering, software design/integration, testing, and continuous risk reduction for classified and unclassified environments, guiding Government engagements and ensuring compliance with DoD/NIST requirements.

Qualifications

• Senior-level DoD/Army cybersecurity leadership experience.
• Expert knowledge of NIST SP 800-37/800-53 and DoDI 8510.01.
• Experience creating RMF artifacts (SSP, PPSM, POA&M).
• Experience vulnerability management, scanning, patching, IAVM processes.
• Knowledge of secure systems engineering, SBOM concepts, OWASP/DISA practices.
• Ability to lead cybersecurity staff and coordinate with Government leaders.
• Meets DoDM 8140.03/DCWF qualifications and ongoing professional development.
• TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead the cyber program and maintain security expertise across lifecycle.
• Serve as the primary cybersecurity/IS systems-engineering point of contact with Government leadership.
• Lead RMF Assess/Authorize activities and support ATO/ATC/IATT decisions.
• Ensure DoD/Army, NIST SP, CNSS, DISA STIGs compliance.
• Provide cybersecurity engineering across system security architecture.
• Manage security exceptions and change-control approvals.
• Oversee software assurance, SBOM, OWASP, and DISA app security practices.
• Oversee hardware assurance and secure repository data.
• Lead Vulnerability Management activities and IAVA tracking.
• Produce RMF artifacts (SSP, PPSM, POA&M).
• Prioritize remediation of High/Moderate risks; manage Low risks.
